E niente, alla fine il governo italiano ha cambiato parte politica, ma non politiche. Gli accordi con il “governo” libico sono rimasti invariati: il governo italiano ha deciso che i diritti umani sono superflui, che è possibile seviziare, stuprare, uccidere. L’importante è che ciò avvenga sul suolo libico.

Noi abbiamo conosciuto qualcuno che è passato dai campi libici, in particolare S ha avuto possibilità di prendersene cura per qualche tempo.

Qualche anno fa, un ragazzo del Gambia è stato ricoverato per una tubercolosi polmonare. Era in isolamento. in genere, quando le persone stanno in isolamento, sfruttano il momento della visita medica per parlare. Lui no. Lui rispondeva a monosillabi, la visita medica quotidiana sembrava una scocciatura.

Dopo 2 settimane così, finalmente risponde a qualche domanda in più. Giocava a calcio, diceva di essere stato in nazionale in Gambia.
Un giorno, gli chiedo una cosa che mi aveva incuriosito fin da subito: aveva delle cicatrici quadrate sulla schiena e non capivamo perché.
“No man, I don’t wanna talk”
Passa un’altra settimana. E stavolta me lo dice: nel campo in Libia dove è stato rinchiuso per quasi un anno, c’era una guardia che, senza motivo, ogni tanto li picchiava con un martello. O uccideva con il martello.
Quel giorno mi raccontò del perché lui e sua sorella, orfani, scapparono dal Gambia e vennero raccolti dai trafficanti di esseri umani. Mi raccontò che tentarono una prima traversata, ma naufragarono molto presto. Lei morì, lui fu raccolto dalla guardia costiera libica e incarcerato in un campo.
Riuscì a prendere di nuovo il mare dopo che il lager fu abbandonato dalle guardie.
Arrivò in Italia, con la speranza di poter dimostrare il suo talento.

Il governo italiano è stato complice di quelle sevizie. E continua a essere complice di chissà quali altre sevizie, stupri e assassinii.

L’umanità è la nostra legge

After two weeks like that, he finally started answering a few more questions. He played soccer and said he had been in the national team in Gambia.
One day, I asked him something that had intrigued me from the beginning: he had square scars on his back, and we couldn’t understand why.

Another week passed. And this time, he told me: in the camp in Libya where he was locked up for almost a year, there was a guard who, for no reason, would sometimes beat them with a hammer. Or kill them with the hammer.
That day he told me why he and his sister, orphans, escaped from Gambia and were picked up by human traffickers. He told me they attempted a first crossing but sank very soon. She died, and he was picked up by the Libyan coast guard and imprisoned in a camp.
He managed to take to the sea again after the camp was abandoned by the guards.
He arrived in Italy, hoping to showcase his talent.

The Italian government was an accomplice to those tortures. And it continues to be an accomplice to who knows what other tortures, rapes, and killings.

Humanity is our law.

La guerra civile siriana è iniziata 8 anni fa.

È una guerra complessa, con tanti fronti aperti e tantissimi attori in campo. Eserciti piccoli e grandi che si contendono il controllo di città e regioni. Alleanze che quasi si fatica a contare, che cambiano a seconda della convenienza momentanea.

La guerra in Siria è un casino.
La guerra è guerra. E la guerra fa schifo. Sempre.

Piangono sempre i più deboli, i più indifesi.

Non abbiamo le competenze, e forse nemmeno l’intelligenza, per capire se ha senso schierarsi. E, soprattutto, con chi.
Crediamo che i popoli abbiano diritto di autodeterminarsi, di vivere in pace e poter prosperare senza la minaccia di essere bombardati.

Il messaggio che vorremmo lanciare a tutti è, probabilmente, un po’ semplice. Ma non per questo è banale, visto che le guerre continuano a essere presenti su questo bruciante Pianeta.

The Syrian civil war began 8 years ago.

It is a complex war with many fronts and numerous actors involved. Small and large armies compete for control of cities and regions. Alliances are difficult to keep track of and change depending on convenience.

The war in Syria is a mess.

War is war. And war is always terrible.

The weakest, the most defenseless, are the ones who suffer the most.

We do not have the expertise, and perhaps not even the intelligence, to understand if it makes sense to take sides. And, above all, with whom.

We believe that people have the right to self-determination, to live in peace and thrive without the threat of being bombed.

The message we would like to send to everyone is probably simple. But it is not trivial, considering that wars continue to ravage this burning planet.

Climate crisis, it’s time to act. Seriously

Anche oggi, milioni di persone si sono riversate sulle strade per tenere alta l’attenzione nei confronti della crisi climatica. Anche noi ci siamo uniti in questa protesta.

Il riscaldamento globale preoccupa tutti (o quasi tutti). Molti hanno “ricette” miracolose.

Sappiamo, invece, che non si possono dare risposte semplici per problemi così complessi.

Risposte serie e utili per salvare il Pianeta (e noi che ci viviamo sopra) possono venire dalla scienza e dalla tecnologia, “poteri deboli” che hanno bisogno della Politica (a livello mondiale, non solo dei singoli Paesi) per esistere. “Poteri deboli” che, se guidati in modo etico (come è stato fatto con la medicina universalistica italiana), possono ridurre le disuguaglianze e migliorare la vita delle future generazioni.
Scienza e tecnologia hanno bisogno di investimenti e di persone competenti che sappiano trovare strumenti che oggi non ci sono: investire nella ricerca per la fusione nucleare, ad esempio; investire per migliorare gli strumenti di ricaptazione della CO2.
Anche per questi motivi, è necessario evitare di disperdere soldi e energie per cose deleterie: in Italia, spendiamo tantissimo per la Difesa; recentemente, sono state finanziate manovre suicide, come “Quota 100”, che toglie a noi giovani il welfare di domani.

Non possiamo più stare a guardare. E non possiamo nemmeno tollerare quegli adulti che cercano di sminuire e distruggere il movimento neoambientalista; anzi, cercano di annientare la ragazza simbolo dei giovani. Greta Thunberg ha subito attacchi da tantissimi adulti beceri e ignoranti, da ogni latitudine. Tutti a darle della cretina quando parla di mass extinction. Abbiamo una notizia per voi, cari deficienti: l’estinzione di massa è già in atto (e, al momento, non tocca gli esseri umani). Gli esperti e gli scienziati che si occupano di questi fenomeni sono concordi, tutti: stiamo vivendo in un periodo in cui registriamo la scomparsa di un gran numero di specie viventi.

Se Greta Thunberg vi sta tanto sulle balle, probabilmente, è perché parla di cose che voi ignorate. Siete sotto l’effetto Dunning-Kruger e, come ogni ignorante-arrogante che si rispetti, non riuscite ad andare oltre all’offesa personale e al body shaming.

Noi stiamo con Greta, con i nostri figli e con i figli che devono ancora nascere. Chi nega le evidenze scientifiche della crisi climatica, ci nega il futuro.
E allora andatevene a farvi fottere, subito.

Global warming concerns everyone (or almost everyone). Many propose “miraculous” solutions.

However, we know that simple answers cannot be given to such complex problems.

Serious and useful solutions to save the planet (and ourselves who live on it) can come from science and technology, “weak powers” that need Politics (at a global level, not just individual countries) to exist. These “weak powers,” if guided ethically (as has been done with universalistic Italian medicine), can reduce inequalities and improve the lives of future generations. Science and technology require investments and competent individuals who can find tools that do not currently exist: investing in research for nuclear fusion, for example; investing in improving CO2 capture mechanisms. For these reasons as well, it is necessary to avoid wasting money and energy on detrimental things: in Italy, we spend a great deal on Defense; recently, suicidal maneuvers such as “Quota 100” have been funded, which deprive us young people of tomorrow’s welfare.

We can no longer stand by and watch. We cannot tolerate those adults who seek to belittle and destroy the neo-environmental movement; in fact, they try to annihilate the symbolic girl of the youth. Greta Thunberg has been attacked by countless vulgar and ignorant adults from all around the world. They all call her stupid when she speaks about mass extinction. We have news for you, dear imbeciles: mass extinction is already happening (and currently, it does not affect human beings). The experts and scientists studying these phenomena all agree: we are living in a period where we are witnessing the disappearance of a large number of living species.

If Greta Thunberg annoys you so much, it’s probably because she talks about things you are ignorant about. You are under the Dunning-Kruger effect, and like every ignorant-arrogant person, you cannot go beyond personal insults and body shaming.

We stand with Greta, with our children, and with the children yet to be born. Those who deny the scientific evidence of the climate crisis deny us our future.

So, go fuck yourselves immediately.
