Lunedì 29 giugno, Manu e Pit sono stati ospiti durante la trasmissione When the music is cover di Radio Antenna Uno, condotta da Diego Cortese. La trasmissione è stata un’occasione bellissima per dialogare di musica, film, ambiente, arte, sogni, desideri, progetti… Una intervista sui generis, un saltare da un tema all’altro grazie a clip di film (proposti da Stefano, assente per un problema lavorativo): non è possibile riassumere quell’ora in diretta via etere con poche parole scritte. Quindi non lo faremo. Ascoltatela e, se vi va, fateci sapere che ne pensate.
On Monday, June 29th, Manu and Pit were guests on the radio show When the music is cover on Radio Antenna Uno, hosted by Diego Cortese. The show (obviously, completely in Italian) was a wonderful opportunity to discuss music, movies, the environment, art, dreams, desires, and projects. It was a unique interview, jumping from one topic to another with the help of film clips (suggested by Stefano, who was absent due to work issues). Il maltempo imperversa ormai da diverse settimane sull’Emilia-Romagna, un evento estremo che ha portato devastazioni che avremmo preferito non vedere nelle nostre terre (grazie crisi climatica…). Fortunatamente, la parte nord della provincia di Modena non sta subendo grossi problemi idrogeologici, a differenza dell’area più a sud di Modena e della Romagna. Tuttavia, giustamente, gli organizzatori della Festa de L’Unità hanno deciso di posticipare gli eventi: quindi, nuova data per il live previsto di Radar 5:11 e Babel Fish
The bad weather has been raging for several weeks now in Emilia-Romagna. Fortunately, the northern part of the province of Modena is not experiencing major hydrogeological problems, unlike the southern area of Modena and Romagna. However, understandably, the organizers of the Festa de L’Unità have decided to postpone the events. Therefore, a new date will be scheduled for the live performance of Radar 5:11 and Babel Fish.
“Dicono di noi…” In genere, iniziano così le sezioni delle recensioni dei siti. Siccome in questi ultimi giorni, (C)lose ha iniziato a raccogliere l’attenzione di alcune fanzine e siccome sono cose che ci inorgogliscono un po’, ci piace l’idea di condividerle.
I Radar 5:11 mettono su questo interessante gioiello, fatto di strutture sentimentali, che orientano il percorso verso una produzione dolce e unica. […] In questo secondo EP in studio (C)lose, viene racchiuso tutto il lavoro, dell’ultimo periodo dovuto alla pandemia e tutta la situazione surreale, che ognuno di noi ha vissuto sulla propria pelle. Nelle quattro tracce preziose, si esplora un sentimentale passaggio sognante e di qualità.
La variazione tra il post-prog energetico e le ambientazioni sonore è stata fatta veramente con gusto. È facile capire che i membri della band sono grandi musicisti e compositori, poiché ci sono molte parti e riff insoliti, ma incredibili. Ogni performance nell’EP è molto buona. Le chitarre e il basso suonano molto bene insieme, mentre la batteria eleva il suono a proporzioni enormi ed epiche. Dall’intensa “Growing Chains” alle melodie estremamente emozionali di “Acab“, tutto sembra grandioso ed epico.
Il progetto di musica strumentale post-rock italiano Radar 5:11 ha recentemente pubblicato questo inno intitolato “Hopes of Tomorrow”. È una traccia oscura con melodie e suoni atmosferici che si intrecciano per raccontare una storia senza parole, che si trasforma in qualcosa di veramente epico man mano che la traccia avanza.
La band post-rock crea un suono estremamente dinamico, costruendo e rompendosi in nuove forme e configurazioni man mano che la traccia si gonfia e si frantuma. C’è un sentimento distintamente malinconico nella traccia che alla fine si trasforma in una festa trionfante. Come dovrebbero fare tutte le buone tracce post-rock.
E poi, martedì 14 marzo, succede anche una cosa ulteriormente inaspettata: Stefano “Cocco” Covili, durante la sua trasmissione Ladies and Gentlemen we are floating in space su Radio Antenna 1, ha trasmesso Wad, commentandola così:
Il nostro orgoglio si è conseguentemente pompato tantissimo. Infatti, Radio Antenna 1 è, per alcuni di noi, più importante di qualsiasi altra radio nazionale: negli anni della formazione, senza la programmazione di quella stazione, non avremmo educato quel “palato” musicale che abbiamo oggi. “They say about us…” This is usually how the review sections of websites begin. Since these last few days, (C)lose has started to gather the attention of some fanzines and since these are things that make us a little proud, we like the idea of sharing them.
Radar 5:11 puts together this interesting gem, made up of sentimental structures that guide the path towards a sweet and unique production. […] In this second studio EP, titled (C)lose, all the work from the recent period due to the pandemic and the surreal situation that each of us experienced firsthand is encapsulated. In the four precious tracks, a dreamy and high-quality sentimental journey is explored.
The variation between energeric post-prog and ambient soundscapes is really tastefully done. It’s easy to figure out that the band members are great musicians and songwriters, since there are plenty of unusual, but amazing sounding passages and riffs. Every performance on the EP is very good. The guitars and bass play off each other very well, while the drums elevate the sound into huge, anthemic proportions. From the pure intensity of “Growing Chains” to the extremely emotional melodies of “Acab”, everything feels grand and epic.
Italian post-rock instrumental music project Radar 5:11 recently released this anthemic track ‘Hopes of Tomorrow‘. It’s a dark track with melodies and atmospheric sounds that intertwine to tell a story without words, this then builds into something truly epic as the track progresses.
The post-rock band creates an enormously dynamic sound, building and breaking apart into new shapes and configurations as the track swells and bursts apart. There is a distinct melancholy feel to the track that eventually breaks into triumphant revelry. Like all good post-rock tracks should.
And then, on Tuesday 14th March, something else unexpected happened: Stefano “Cocco” Covili, during his show Ladies and Gentlemen we are floating in space on Radio Antenna 1, broadcasted Wad and commented on it as follows:
We’re talking about things that draw from the imagery and aesthetic canons of post-rock. You know how attached I am to these sounds, but even more so when they manage to express some personality, a personal stylistic imprint. In recent years, post-rock hasn’t been able to renew itself much, so finding a band that succeeds in this endeavor is fantastic news. Truly a delightful surprise, I hope to be able to see them live sooner or later.
Our pride has consequently been greatly inflated. In fact, for some of us, Radio Antenna 1 is more important than any other national radio: during our formative years, without the programming of that station, we wouldn’t have developed the musical “taste” we have today. Last night, one of our songs was played on Radio Antenna 1. We are truly proud of this, considering that for some of us, Radio Antenna 1 is more important than any other national radio station. During our formative years, without the programming of that station, we would not have developed the musical taste that we have today.
