We are Radar 5:11. Watch out fascists and racists: radars listen to you and know you. We’re your worst nightmare.

In recent days, something unusual happened in our city: an opinion article signed by the editor-in-chief appeared in the weekly publication of the priests.

The Radar 5:11 band members (Stefano, Marco, Jacopo, Pietro, and Emanuele) WANT to distance themselves from the views expressed in the editorial, as they do not feel in the slightest represented by its content. Even before declaring any political affiliation or religious orientation, we believe that news expressed through the media, especially when representing third parties (in this case, the entire diocesan community), should be true and representative of the parties involved: downplaying deaths in the Mediterranean, falsely amplifying the sense of insecurity, endorsing armed citizenship… spreading manipulated news for electoral advantage is unacceptable.

There are other channels for expressing personal opinions, whether they are more or less shared or debatable.

We play for inclusivity, rational environmentalism, and the rights of the most vulnerable. Those who consider these values negotiable can happily go screw themselves.

15 March, Radar will strike for the future!

Climate change is the worst and most relevant threat for our children’s life. We decided to join the cause of millions of students all around the world.
Tomorrow, we’ll be in Carpi with our families.

All of us should join to global strike. But some of our politicians doesn’t agree, like Mr. Bussetti, minister of education: he said that students must go to school tomorrow. Those people should shut up and fuckoff, because climate change is a responsibility of our politicians.

Tomorrow will be the beginning of a new course, of a new generation. Will you be there?

We must protest inaction on climate change

Some of Radar’s players have children. All of us are aware of the planet devastation that climate change has started.

Climate change is a human responsibility. It’s human responsibility to stop it for next generations. For our children and grandchildren.

That’s why we decided to support Greta Thunberg’s fight. And you should too.

“Because if climate change has to stop, then we must stop it. It is black and white. There are no grey areas when it comes to survival. Either we continue as a civilisation or we don’t. One way or another, we have to change.”

In next months, EU parliament will be renewed: we must push politicians and scientists to do something to stop global warming.

Follow Greta, all of us have a lot to learn from her determination:
